Summit Earthworks Inc. was selected by Wuikinuxv First Nation of Rivers Inlet through our Joint Venture partner, Leq’á:mel First Nation, to complete the demolition, excavation, and construction of a new solid waste management centre to focus on environmentally sustainable recycling for the community.
The project site is situated in the remote community at the Rivers Inlet. The logistics required to complete this project were challenging and included shipping all equipment by ocean barge for delivery to the site. In addition, our Summit crews were flown into the base camp.
Demolition and contaminated debris were sorted on-site and sent via barge to the appropriate recycling/disposal facility. The additional scope includes the construction of a new lock block wall, access gate, electric bear fence, installation of a new electrical supply and disposal of thousands of litres of regulated wastes.
