National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, September 30, 2024

Summit Earthworks Inc. (Summit) acknowledges the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation, September 30, 2024.

Our company and team members understand that a key objective of the Truth & Reconciliation process is to learn of the history of Residential Schools and the experiences of survivors of the residential schools, their families and others involved. Notably, Summit’s staff has been involved in learning about the St. Mary’s Indian Residential School, located in Mission BC, where our head office is located. In this regard, we have purchased and distributed several books documenting the history of St. Mary’s, entitled ‘St. Mary’s, the Legacy of an Indian Residential School’, by Longhouse Publishing (Mission BC), focuses on the testimonials of 46 former students who attended the school from the 1930s through the 1980s.

As recommended by the Truth & Reconciliation Commission, our company acknowledges the traditional territories of all First Nations where we have business operations. Moreover, Summit is actively involved in developing positive working relationships with First Nation organizations, including business and community relations, in all communities where we have operations. In addition, we have a senior staff member who has worked closely with over 60 First Nations over the past 50 years and continues to provide guidance to Summit, and our clients regarding Indigenous community and business relationships.
