Summit/LAX Business Development
A Joint Venture with Lax Kw’alaams Business Enterprises LP
Summit/Lax Business Development is a partnership between Summit Earthworks and Lax Kw’alaams Business Enterprises Limited Partnership, an Indigenous-owned business of the Lax Kw’alaams Band.
The joint venture focuses on:
- Projects within Lax Kw’alaams Traditional Territory
- Employment and training opportunities for Band members
To commemorate this partnership, Summit Earthworks commissioned ceremonial drums by Lax Kw’alaams artist Russell Mather.
We acknowledge and thank Carl Sampson (COO) and Elder Frank de Bartolo, Lax Kw’alaams Commercial & Social Affairs, for their leadership and commitment.


Summit Horizons
Summit Horizons is a joint venture between Summit Earthworks and C&C Horizon Contracting, a Musqueam Band Member–owned business. Focused on projects within Musqueam Traditional Territory, the partnership aims to maximize contracting opportunities while expanding employment and training for Musqueam Band members.
Established in 2022, Summit Horizons anticipates participation in numerous future soil management and civil construction projects.
Project Experience Includes:
- Soils Management:
Purchase order agreement with FortisBC to accept clean and contaminated soils from sites across British Columbia, transported to permitted Summit Earthworks facilities.
YVR:
Civil works for Vancouver Airport Authority, including lock-block containment cell construction, ditching, and bullrush removal.


Seabird Island Band Development Corporation
Summit Earthworks signed a Revenue Share and Benefits Agreement with Seabird Island’s SqDC (Sqéwqel Development Corporation) September 5, 2024, and has committed to working together. SqDC is responsible for economic development on Seabird Island. Summit Earthworks is the largest Ministry of Environment permitted facility operator for soil management in the BC Lower Mainland

LDLP/SEW
LDLP/SEW is a joint venture between Summit Earthworks and Leq’á:mel Development Limited Partnership, representing Leq’á:mel First Nation. The partnership explores opportunities to expand contracting, employment, and training—both within Leq’á:mel Traditional Territory and across British Columbia.

- Clearing and grubbing within watersheds
- Invasive species removal
- Flood mitigation and embankment repair
- Salmon habitat restoration and offsets
- Atmospheric river response projects
Community Infrastructure
- Emergency dike repairs
- Village subdivision preparation
- TMX Pipeline Project support
- Solid waste facilities for Dzawada’enuxw & Wuikinuxv Nations
- Community gardens, pathways, and elder housing access
Fill Sites
- On-reserve industrial and commercial developments
- Infrastructure improvements, including transfer stations
Archaeological & Environmental Support
- Preliminary Field Reconnaissance (PFRs)
- Chance Find Procedures (CFPs)
- Orientation, training, and monitoring programs
