Solid Waste Management Centre

The LDLP/Summit JV is pleased to be working for the Dzawada’enuxw First Nation of Kingcome Inlet through our Joint Venture partner, Leq’á:mel First Nation. We sincerely thank Operations Manager Diana Dick, Capital Projects Manager Robin Dawson & Chief Willie Moon for this opportunity.

The main component of this project is to build a Solid Waste Management Centre (SWMC) for the remote Central Coast community at Quaee 7 to properly contain, store, and protect their solid waste from the environment. This facility will reduce the amount of waste the community generates by providing areas within the SWMC for recyclable materials to be stored then transported to a recycling facility.

Additional aspects of this challenging project involved:

  • A community waste cleanup.
  • Decommissioning structures for the transfer station and incinerator building.
  • Barge ramp upgrades.
  • Road upgrades.

LDLP/Summit JV is pleased to provide the Quaee community with a SWMC facility to ensure that the local pristine wilderness is secured for future generations to enjoy.
